SVF Flow Controls Achieves SIL 3 Capable Certification for Key Valve and Actuator Products
La Palma, CA June 19, 2025 — SVF Flow Controls, a recognized leader in flow control technology for industrial process applications, proudly announces that several of its flagship products have achieved
SIL 3 capable certification, a significant safety milestone in support of our customers operating in critical service environments.
The newly certified products include:
- 2-Way Floating Ball Valves: B8, H7, R8, SB7, SB7F, FB9, B41D, B42D (JUST ADDED)
- 3-Way Floating Ball Valves: TSB7, TSB7F
- Pneumatic Rack & Pinion Actuators: AERO2, Quad4
SIL 3 or Safety Integrity Level 3, is a classification within the IEC 61508 standard for functional safety, indicating a high level of risk reduction performance required for a safety instrumented function (SIF). It represents a significant reduction in the probability of failure on demand, typically by a factor of 1,000 to 10,000. SIL 3 is one of four SIL levels, with SIL 1 being the lowest and SIL 4 the highest in terms of risk reduction. Achieving SIL 3 requires redundant components and robust diagnostic capabilities to minimize the likelihood of failure. SIL 3 certification requires third-party approval and auditing to verify their ability to meet the safety performance.
