We are currently seeking a Regional Sales Manager for the Eastern Region and an Inside Sales Representative (Inside Sales can work remotely).

Job Title:  Regional Sales Manager – Eastern Region (Click Here to View Territory Map)                                        

Reports To:  VP of Sales

Job Summary:

Under the focused direction of the VP of Sales, this manager plans, organizes, oversees and controls SVF Distributors and all other clients including major OEMs, Corporate HQs, and A/E’s in the assigned region to meet sales objectives; manages distributors, controls expense budgets, assigns quotas, creates forecasts, writes specifications, engages customers and provides training for all entities related to the application of SVF products.

Examples of Essential Functions:

  • Creates, implements and meets sales strategies, goals and objectives for SVF Distributors and all other clients.
  • Develops sales strategies with management and accompanies sales personnel on SVF Distributor’s sales calls.
  • Trains SVF Distributors, initiates and maintains contacts, develops leads, and profiles product applications, features and competitive characteristics in account development.
  • With the VP of Sales, negotiates and executes terms, contracts and pricing for sales agreements within company guidelines and in conjunction with marketing and sales management.
  • Directly or indirectly holds responsibility for activities producing quotations and processing of orders to be properly executed and managed.
  • Evaluates new sales and product opportunities then formulates sales plans, reports and recommendations for presentation to management.
  • Communicates sales and marketing philosophy, policies and strategies to SVF Customers at all levels.
  • Generates various reports on territory and  SVF Distributors performance.
  • Actively involved in Operational Excellence activities and functions.
  • Routinely engages with A&Es to develop an understanding and preference for SVF.

Proven Success:

Must demonstrate history of progressive responsibility with experience in sales and management.  


BA/BS preferably in a Technical discipline or verifiable equivalent years of directly related field experience.

Knowledge of:

As related to SVF Distribution: Sales and marketing principles, concepts, methods and practices; company products, including features, benefits and competitive attributes; sales geography, client organizational structure, sales opportunity management, competitive advantages and product applications; management principles and negotiation techniques; computer hardware and software systems related to sales and marketing applications.


Operate a computer terminal and related software programs especially Excel.

Use of tools required in presentations including PowerPoint.

Formal planning; territory, account and annual sales strategy management.

Excellent written communications.

Ability to:

Plan, organize, manage, coordinate, train and evaluate the work of sales and distribution personnel; establish and exceed territory sales targets; evaluate and implements effective sales and management approaches to increase customer satisfaction, product and Channel Partner coverage and sales; conduct effective training programs and make persuasive and successful oral and written sales presentations; write clear and concise business correspondence, reports and recommendations; communicate and work cooperatively with co-workers, departmental representatives, sales representatives, SVF Distributors, management and customers.

Special Requirements:

Ability to do what it takes to be successful which may require extensive travel (within region and nationally) on company business in order to interact with customers, sales and purchasing representatives, sales and marketing management, customers, SVF Distributors and others.

Job Title:             Inside Sales Representative (Off Site)

Reports To:         Sales Manager                                                 

Job Summary:

The Inside Sales Representative applies the resources of the organization and consultative selling practices to meet customer requirements. 
NOTE: This position can operate from a remote location.


  • Ensures that customer orders and inquiries are addressed in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
  • Handles complete process of quote through order entry.
  • Managing of open quotes by following up with customers, booking or closing in system.
  • Coordinates with Accounting regarding new customer accounts and initiates terms, letters of credit and records and updates master account files.
  • Reviews and signs off on final order against customer contract (Purchase Order).
  • Prepares, reviews and accurately processes change orders.
  • Maintains special order requirement files and responds to specific customer requests.
  • Works to get orders expedited, as needed.
  • Employs consultative selling skills; establishes Customer partnering relationships to assist customers and SVF personnel with general to complex technical product support.
  • Shares information with staff and Regional Sales Managers concerning inquiries, problems and corrective actions.
  • Employs departmental order entry standards, procedures and systems.
  • Ensures timely responses to technical inquiries, problems, product support and customer complaints including managing the complaint through customer satisfaction.
  • Organize and maintain customer RFQ’s and corresponding documents.
  • Participates in special projects as requested.
  • Develops and delivers product application solutions based on technical knowledge and expertise utilizing company assets, departmental specialists, written specification requests.
  • Assists customers with assignment of RMA numbers and recording of complaints.
  • Responsible for handling miscellaneous projects including, but not limited to, quotation follow up, phone surveys, pro-active customer calls, telemarketing, business development activities, etc.
  • Responsible for reviewing all opportunities with their respective Regional Sales Manager.
  • Interacts with other departments as necessary to accomplish objectives.
  • Advises management of any competitive intelligence obtained during conversations and meetings.
  • Maintains contacts in Business Contact Manager with CRM in P21.
  • Maintains a neat, organized and professional work space.
  • May be required to visit customers as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

General Requirements:

  • BA/BS in appropriate (technical) field is desirable.
  • Five (5) or more years of responsible experience in a customer service/inside sales environment.
  • Relevant training in Inside Sales.
  • Excellent telephone sales personality skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Highly energetic and self-starter.
  • Decision-making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills.
  • Business Contact Manager experience a plus.

Knowledge of:

  • Customer service principles, practices and procedures, records systems procedures.
  • Knowledge of ball valves highly desirable.
  • Highly proficient level computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook, ERP, Remote access.

Ability to:

  • Able to work in fast-paced, self-directed environment.
  • Able to multi-task the activities with shifting priorities.
  • Should be honest, assertive and systematic.
  • Ability to conduct conversations with technical counterparts internally and externally with respect to technical, installation and trouble shooting. Uses probing skills to clearly understand customer requirements.

Special Requirements:

  • May be required to travel on company business in interacting with customers, vendors and sales representatives.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours to ensure all job requirements are fulfilled.
